The Learning Lab

No signup. No login. Just free practice for the internet you actually live in.

A free, interactive space where teens and tweens practice spotting the stuff that's designed to work on them — algorithm traps, AI-generated misinformation, and the emotional hooks that keep you scrolling.

Here’s The Thing

Our kids grew up in a world designed to manipulate them, magnetize their attention, and shape what they believe, without ever asking permission.

The algorithms powering their feeds were built by adults, optimized for engagement, and handed to them with no instruction manual. And then, before anyone had a chance to catch up, AI arrived…….confident, convincing, and wrong just often enough to matter.

Two systems. Zero orientation.

The Learning Lab gives young people a safe, supportive place to build the foundation they deserve…. to explore, question, and practice the skills that help them move through the digital world with more confidence and a lot less confusion. No pressure. No grades. Just curiosity, welcomed.

How It Works

Each module drops you into a realistic scenario and asks you to figure out what's actually going on. You'll step inside a real social media feed as the algorithm starts working. You'll read AI-generated content and try to sort the real from the fabricated. You'll make decisions, spot patterns, and reflect on what just happened.

There's no lecture. No quiz at the end. Just a scenario, a decision, and the kind of reflection that actually sticks.

The approach is grounded in scenario-based learning, a method used in medical training, pilot simulation, and high-stakes decision-making because it builds intuition, not just awareness. When you've practiced recognizing a pattern in a low-stakes environment, you're far more likely to catch it when it counts.

New modules are added regularly. Each one builds a different skill. All of them are free.

Who It’s For

The Learning Lab was designed for learners ages 11 and up …..the generation that grew up inside these systems. But parents who want to understand what their kids are navigating, educators building media literacy into their curriculum, and adults who want to sharpen their own critical thinking are all welcome here.

Every module is self-paced and self-explanatory. No registration. No data collected. No cost — now or ever.

For educators: Modules are designed to work independently as homework, a warm-up, or a full class activity. Each one takes about 5-10 minutes and are all self-contained modules that target a different critical thinking skill.

Ready to Explore?

The Learning Lab is free, open, and growing.

Each module covers a different piece of the puzzle — algorithms, AI, misinformation, and more. Pick one and spend 5-10 minutes. You'll start seeing things you couldn't see before.
